Sociology has been designated as a subject; therefore, after September 1981, a student
must be endorsed in a second subject in order to receive teacher certification. Students
should plan to select a second subject.
Some areas compatible with Sociology are: Art, Business, Criminal Justice, Economics, Foreign Language, Geography, Health Education, History,
International Studies, Journalism, Physical
Education, Political Science, Psychology,
and Social Work.
A teaching endorsement should be chosen only after adequate counseling has helped the
student consider the variations of the program and how these serve career objectives.
