Music Major

Five major options are available:
I. Music Option-Bachelor of Arts Degree
II. Music Performance Option-Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree
III. Musical Theatre Option--Music Emphasis Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree
IV. Music Business Option-Bachelor of Science Degree
V. Music Teaching Field Endorsement Option- Bachelor of Arts in Education

Pre-Profession Program in Music Therapy is available. Minors in Music and Dance are available for students pursuing majors in other disciplines.

The Elementary Education major has a specially defined music minor.

The Department of Music is an accredited institutional member of the National Association of Schools of Music.

Students electing the vocal emphasis must demonstrate a proficiency in a single foreign language. Students may either elect two semesters of a language, which may be part of the General Studies program, or pass a proficiency examination.
