Five major options are available:

A minor in Art, Art History,
or Graphic Design is available for students pursuing majors
in other disciplines.
The Elementary Education Major has specially defined minors in Arts and Arts-Crafts.
I. Studio Art Option - Bachelor of Arts Degree
This major is for those students desiring to balance fundamental training in art with
the liberal arts.

II. Art History Option -Bachelor of Arts Degree
This major is for those students desiring an art history program which prepares them
for a range of activities related to the past, criticism, college level teaching and
conservation. The language and historical framework of art are emphasized. The course of
study for the B.A. program is consonant with objectives and standards of the College Art
Association and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.

practical problem solving in various media to develop design skills for communication. The

This endorsement is for those students desiring a career in teaching in elementary and
secondary schools. The program in art education fulfills both the general education
requirements for graduation and the Nebraska certification requirements for teaching art
at the elementary and secondary levels. The course of study for the B.A. Ed. program is
consonant with objectives and standards of the National Art Education Association.
This minor is for those students desiring an introductory study of and experience with
art fundamentals, and two-and three-dimensional studio processes, tools and techniques.
This course of study does not fulfill certification requirements for teaching.
