Students must apply for admission to all Teacher Education programs.
Endorsement = 31
This endorsement also requires both ELED 370, Teaching Elementary School Mathematics, and ELED 374, Teaching Elementary School Reading, to meet the 40 hours State Department of Education endorsement requirement. As most students selecting this endorsement will take these methods courses as a part of their other endorsement in Elementary Education or Middle Grades Education, 31 hours will normally complete the endorsement.
Second Subject Endorsement, normally = 30
The Mild/Moderate 7-12 Teaching Subject Endorsement can not be used as the second endorsement for this program. Students may take both Mild/Moderate Special Education endorsements, but are still required to complete an additional endorsement.
Should required hours of the second endorsement also meet other requirements, the total required hours may be reduced.
Minimum total hours required coursework = 136
Unrestricted electives in 125 hour program = 0

Minimum total hours required for BAE in Mild/Moderate K-6 Teaching Subject Endorsement = 136
All UNK degrees require a minimum of 125 hours. Forty (40) of the hours required for all UNK degrees must be upper division hours, which are courses numbered 300 or above taken at a 4-year college or university.

SPED 434, Instructional Needs of Students with Disabilities in Inclusive Settings - 3 hours
SPED 476, Program Development for Inclusive Education - 3 hours
SPED 475, Methods for Moderate Disabilities - 3 hours
SPED 446, Assessment of Individuals with Disabilities - 3 hours
SPED 455, Elementary Methods for Mild Disabilities - 3 hours
SPED 498, Special Topics - 1 hour
