Scholarships

UNMC College Of Nursing-
Kearney Division Endowed Scholarships

Eligible students may apply for the following scholarships through the University of Nebraska Medical Center Financial Aid Office.

Warren R. and Nancy L. Barney Endowed Scholarship:
Established to help support students of the University of Nebraska at Kearney in the College of Nursing. Recipients shall be a junior or senior student major, enrolled at the Kearney Division of the College of Nursing with a grade point average of at least 2.5. Preference should be given to residents of Nebraska. Financial need will be considered as a criterion.

Mackie Sisters' Memorial Endowed Scholarship:
This scholarship is awarded to a student who is majoring in nursing. Selection is based on past academic or professional accomplishment.

Nancy Mannlein Memorial Endowed Scholarship:
Established by the friends and family of the late Nancy Mannlein to provide financial assistance to a third semester nursing major at UNK. Selection will be based upon Student Nurses's Association participation, a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5, and involvement in community and campus activities. This scholarship is awarded for second semester.

Becky McElroy Memorial Nursing Endowed Scholarship:
Established by the friends and family of the late Becky McElroy to provide financial assistance to a senior nursing student at UNK. Selection shall be based upon need and academic merit, and the recipient must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3.

William Stehlik Memorial Endowed Scholarship:
Established by friends and family of William Stehlik, this scholarship will be awarded to a student majoring in nursing. Eligible students must be graduates of Nebraska high schools.

Annual Scholarship

Kearney Clinic Founders' Scholarship Honoring Dr. R. F. Jester, Dr. H. V. Smith, Dr. L. D. Lane, and Dr. L. C. Steffens:
Established by physicians of Kearney Clinic in recognition of the lives and service of Dr. R. F. Jester, Dr. H. V. Smith, Dr. L. D. Lane, and Dr. L. C. Steffens. Full tuition will be awarded to two full-time Nursing students in the third, fourth, or fifth semester of their nursing major.
