Spanish Major
Three major options are available:
- I. Spanish Option-Bachelor of Arts Degree
- II.Spanish Translation and Interpretation Option-Bachelor of
Arts Degree
- III.Spanish Teaching Subject Endorsement Option-Bachelor of
Arts Degree in Education
- A. General Studies Program - 45 hours
- B. Foreign Language Requirement met by the major (2 intermediate or upper level courses
required) - 5-16 hours
- C.Spanish Option - 34 hours
- D.One minor or major other than Spanish - 24-36 hours
- E. Total including electives - 125 hours

II. Spanish Translation and Interpretation Option**
-Bachelor of Arts Degree
**A student must earn at least a "B" in all of the Translation and
Interpretation seminars in order to obtain the Certificate of Translation-Interpretation.
- A. General Studies Program - 45 hours
- B. Foreign Language Requirement met by the major (2 intermediate or upper level courses
required) - 5-14 hours
- C. Translation Interpretation Option - 32 hours
- D. One minor or major other than the language of specialization - 24-36 hours
- E. Total including electives - 125 hours
FORL 209 * Seminar in Translation - 3
- *A student must earn at least a "B" in FORL 209 to continue to FORL 309.
- FORL 309 Seminar in Translation II - 3
- FORL 409 Seminar in Interpretation - 3
- **A student must earn at least a "B" in all of the Translation and
Interpretation seminars in order to obtain the Certificate of Translation-Interpretation.

- Prerequisite: SPAN 200 GS or equivalent
