ARTS-CRAFTS MINOR - ELEMENTARY EDUCATION
Required hours = 24
This minor is for those students desiring an introductory study of and experience with tools, materials and processes in the departments of Art and Industrial Technology. This course of study does not fulfill certification requirements for K-12 art teaching.
- Take all of the following:
- (It is recommended that courses be taken in the following sequence)
- ART 102, Drawing I - 3 hours
- ART 118, Color and Design - 3 hours
- ART 360, Elementary Art Methods - 3 hours (Prereq: ART100GS, non-art majors and admission to Teacher Education)
- ITEC 160, Craft Fundamentals - 3 hours
- ITEC 465, Crafts and Community Life - 3 hours
- ITEC 499, Independent Study and Research in Industrial Technology - 1-3 hours
- Take at least 6 hours (to total at least 24 hours) from the following:
- ART 214, Painting I - 3 hours
- ART 230, Ceramics I - 3 hours
- ART 246, Sculpture I - 3 hours
- ART 252, Life Drawing - 3 hours
- ART 401A, Fiber Construction I - 3 hours
- ART 402A, Surface Design I - 3 hours
- ART 433A, Loom Weaving I - 3 hours
- ITEC 120, Engineering Design Graphics - 3 hours
- ITEC 205, Computer-Aided Drafting - 3 hours (Prereq: ITEC 120)
