Supporting Courses - 10 hours
Business, Family and Consumer Science, Industrial Technology, Vocational Education, or another field selected with the approval of the advisor.

Technical Competency - 0-40 hours
A maximum of forty (40) semester hours can be awarded for technical competency based on: (1) successful completion of an Associate of Applied Science or Associate of Applied Arts Degree; (2) work experience; (3) satisfactory completion of the National Occupational Competency Test Institute test (NOCTI); or (4) a combination of the above. Credit for technical competence will be awarded when all other degree requirements have been met. Persons selecting option two above must be evaluated for technical competency. Note: A minimum of two years' full-time employment or the equivalent is required of all persons completing this degree.


ENDORSEMENTS IN VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

Secondary teachers must possess a valid Nebraska Teaching Certificate. For vocational endorsement which qualifies teachers to teach in a vocational education program in Nebraska, the following professional Vocational Education courses are provided:
VOED 400 Bus & Tech Core Methods - 3
VOED 431 Coordinating Techniques - 3
VOED 432 Foundations and Contemporary Issues in VOED - 3
VOED 434 Intro to Students with Special Needs - 3

Endorsement in Diversified Occupations:
This endorsement is a supplemental endorsement, not a field or subject endorsement. It is designed to be added to endorsements in one of the following areas: Business Education, Industrial Technology, Marketing Education, Trade and Industry, or Vocational Home Economics. Persons with this endorsement may teach/coordinate diversified occupations (a course of instruction which includes teaching job-related skills applicable to a variety of occupations) and to supervise students in grade 7 through 12 during on-the-job training.

Endorsement in Vocational Special Needs:
This endorsement is a supplemental endorsement, not a field or subject endorsement. The program of preparation for an endorsement shall include demonstrated competency in the areas of working with disadvantaged and individuals with disabilities.
