Science Minor-Elementary Education

The objective of the minor is to offer a realistic course of study in the areas of the
natural sciences which will aid in preparing the teacher for the teaching of elementary
school sciences.
- Minimum required for minor = 25
A. Requirements
- Take all the following:
- PHYS 201GS Earth Science - 4 hours
- PHYS 301GS Advanced Physical Science - 4 hours
- Take 1 course from:
- BIOL 103GS General Biology - 4 hours
- BIOL 109GS, Plants and Animals and their
Environment - 4 hours
- Take 1 course from:
- BIOL 104GS,
Biology I - 4 hours (Prereq:
Two years of high school Biology)
- BIOL 107GS, Biology II - 4 hours (Prereq:
Two years of high school biology)
- BIOL 315GS, Human Ecology - 3 hours
B. Approved Electives
- Take 10 hours from:
- PHYS 100GS, Physical Science - 4 hours
- PHYS 210GS, Astronomy - 3 hours
- GEOG 207GS, Physical Geology - 3 hours
- GEOG 209GS, Meteorology - 3 hours
