The University of Nebraska at Kearney offers pre-professional preparation in a variety of fields. Specific information about Pre-Architecture, Pre-Engineering, Pre-Meteorology and Pre-Oceanography is provided in the section of this catalog describing the programs of the Department of Physics. Specific information about pre-law is provided in the section of this catalog describing the programs of the Department of Political Science. Pre-professional programs in health-related areas are described in detail under the section entitled Health Science Programs. Pre-Professional programs in Agriculture or Natural Resources are described in more detail in the Department of Biology section. Many of the pre-professional programs cannot be specified in this catalog because the course requirements vary according to the requirements of the professional school selected by the student. These pre-professional programs include Pre-Veterinary Medicine, Pre-Forestry and Wildlife Emphasis administered by the Department of Biology; Chemical Engineering administered by the Department of Chemistry; and Pre-Music Therapy administered by the Department of Music and Performing Arts. For more information regarding any of the pre-professional programs, a student should contact the chairman of the appropriate academic department. A faculty advisor in these departments will be assigned to assist pre-professional students in their planning.
