REACH-UP OFFICE

The REACH-UP Office provides comprehensive health education to the UNK campus and the Kearney community. REACH-UP, formerly known as UNK's Drug and Alcohol Abuse prevention program, has been restructured to encompass even more health and wellness issues. The REACH-UP mission is health and wellness and the prevention of negative consequences from high-risk behaviors. REACH-UP promotes healthy lifestyles and risk-free choices. UNK students are selected and trained to present educational programs to their peers and the community members. The programs are interactive and include the use of improvisation, drama, and humor to communicate prevention messages. REACH-UP also has a drug and alcohol library, an Advisory Broad that evaluates UNK alcohol policies, UNK Alcohol Awareness Week activities planning committee, smoking cessation groups, campus Alcohol Education Class and conducts UNK student alcohol and drug research. REACH-UP has HAWK, Health And Wellness Corner, a student organization that plans healthy well being and awareness for students. The REACH-UP Office is located in the Student Affairs Building.
