CAREER SERVICES

The Office of Career Services assists students from all academic departments as they make career decisions and seek employment opportunities. A variety of services are available including individual career counseling, interest testing, job search assistance, credential file maintenance, and position vacancy listings. Mock interviews, facilitated by the Career Services staff, are also offered to help prepare students for their job search. National and local vacancy listings are compiled and published weekly for both education and non-education students. Individuals who register for the credential service or resume referral service are offered a variety of on-campus interview opportunities. Workshops and seminars on resume writing, letter writing, interviewing, and professional imaging are offered each semester and open to all students and alumni.

In addition, the Office of Career Services offers a large career information library with resources on geographical information, salaries, graduate/professional school, job searching, career decision or change, career outlook, resume and letter writing, and interviewing skills. For a nominal fee, students may also utilize a computerized career guidance system and resume development software.

Students are encouraged to start their career planning and job search early by investigating the Office of Career Services and the resources available during the freshman and sophomore years. This will aid them in making more informed career decisions. All services are located in the Office of Career Services, Memorial Student Affairs Building.
