STRENGTH TRAINING (7-12)

AD 2011
Students must complete two Teaching Subject Endorsements or one Field Endorsement in addition to this Supplemental Endorsement.

Minimum required for endorsement = 26

A. Supplemental Endorsement-Strength Training Requirements
Take all of the following:
FCSC 110GS, Introduction to Nutrition - 3 hours (Prereq: *CHEM 145GS or CHEM 150)
PE 110GS, Basic Sports - 1 hour
PE 173, Athletic Training Practicum - 2 hours
PE 229, Wellness Interventions - 3 hours
PE 360, Human Anatomy and Kinesiology - 4 hours
PE 401, Athlete in Contemporary Society - 3 hours
PE 422, Administration of Strength Programs - 2 hours
PE 461, Physiology of Exercise - 3 hours
Take one from the following*:
CHEM 145GS, Introductory Chemistry - 4 hours
CHEM 150GS, Consumer Organic Chemistry - 3 or 4 hours
*Number of total hours for the endorsement may be reduced if these courses are taken in the student's General Studies Program.

B. Supplemental Endorsement-Strength Training Electives
Take 2-3 hours from the following:
PE 330, Volleyball Theory - 2 hours
PE 331, Football Theory - 3 hours
PE 332, Soccer Theory - 3 hours
PE 333, Basketball Theory - 3 hours
PE 334, Track Theory - 3 hours
PE 336, Wrestling Theory - 2 hours (Prereq. or concurrently or proficiency: PE 110GS Wrestling)
PE 337, Baseball/Softball Theory - 3 hours
