Students majoring in French Translation and Interpretation meet this requirement with the courses listed for the major.
Major (in addition to FREN 100-101) = 35
Minor or 2nd Major = 24
Minors are 24 hours; 18 must be unduplicated. Electing a second major may add as many as 18 required hours. Should 6 hours of the minor also meet other requirements, the unrestricted electives will be greater.
Minimum total hours required coursework = 104
Unrestricted elective in 125 hour program = 21
Minimum total hours required for BA in French Translation and Interpretation Major = 125
All UNK degrees require a minimum of 125 hours. Forty (40) of the hours required for all UNK degrees must be upper division hours, which are courses numbered 300 or above taken at a 4-year college or university.

FORL 409, Interpretation - 3 hours (Prereq: Advanced conversation course)
FREN 100GS*, Beginning French I - 5 hours
FREN 101GS*, Beginning French II - 5 hours
FREN 200GS, Intermediate French I - 3 hours
FREN 201GS, Intermediate French II - 3 hours
FREN 204GS, Intermediate French Conversation - 2 hours
FREN 303, French Phonetics - 2 hours
FREN 305, Study of French Civilization - 3 hours
FREN 333, Commercial French - 3 hours
FREN 401, Advanced Composition and Grammar Review - 3 hours
FREN 414, Advanced French Conversation - 3 hours
*Students with high school preparation or native competencies may enter the program at a higher level, reducing total hours for the program. Students beginning a major in French Translation and Interpretation in the Fall of 1997 or thereafter may not include FREN 100/101 in the hours for the major. See advisor for equivalency.
