Career resource material, individual consultation, and interest inventories are available and utilized in Career Services to help students from all academic departments make independent career and employment decisions.
Career and life-planning resources are aimed toward improving self-understanding, setting goals and clarifying educational and occupational opportunities that are of primary importance in the decision-making process.
Current career planning information is provided through employer informational brochures, presentations on career and employment topics, individual and group conferences, and publications pertaining to career fields. Occupational information is available in the Career Information Center.
Career Services also offers individual career counseling, job search assistance, vacancy information and credential service to UNK students and alumni. Registrants are charged a fee for the credential service which also entitles them to on-campus interviews with employers from business, industry, education and government. Computerized and compiled weekly and monthly vacancy listings from local, national and international sources are available to both education and non-education registrants. Workshops on all aspects of job search, career change, skill assessment and job performance are open to all students and alumni. Speakers and information on current and future employment trends are available upon request. A video interview service is provided for student and employer use.
