Veterans and Dependents

The Financial Aid Office works in cooperation with the Veterans Administration to help veterans and eligible dependents obtain VA educational benefits. To receive VA benefits, an enrollment certification must be submitted to the regional VA office by the Financial Aid Office. It is the responsibility of the veteran or dependent to insure that the Financial Aid Office is advised of his/her enrollment status at the beginning of each new semester. Additionally, it is the student's responsibility to notify the Financial Aid Office of address changes and changes in enrollment.

To be certified as a full-time student, an undergraduate must be registered for 12 or more credit hours per semester. This hour basis varies for summer sessions. In order to expedite initial payment, new and returning students should submit VA application through the Financial Aid Office as soon as they are notified of their acceptance to UNK.
