COUNSELING CENTER
Memorial Student Affairs Building (308) 865-8248
http://www.unk.edu/offices/counseling/

The goal of the Counseling Center is to provide services that empower students to make healthy life choices and decisions necessary for personal growth and academic success. Students are provided services at no charge which include: professional counseling, confidentiality, individual, couple and group counseling. The American Counseling Association Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice guide the Counseling Center in its provision of services. Confidentiality is a guiding principle.

Counseling provides an opportunity to talk with a Licensed qualified professional about personal concerns. Services provide opportunities to explore oneself in addition to different ways to look at situations. Service providers help students to become more successful at solving personal problems on their own; this focus highlights one of the directions of service provision at the Counseling Center. Counseling may involve exploring relationship issues, stress, academic pressures, homesickness, depression, eating disorders, drug/alcohol abuse, and grief, sex (choices, pregnancy, and assault).
