ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

Accounting Society: gives members a better understanding of the accounting profession.

Ad/PR Club: open to all students interested in advertising or public relations.

Agricultural Business Association at UNK: open to all students to expand their professional and personal experiences within agriculture.

American Chemical Society: for students interested in general science and chemistry.

American Marketing Association: introduces knowledge of the current positions in marketing, open to all business majors.

Antelope Newspaper: published weekly by a staff of UNK students committed to providing meaningful campus and community dialogue.

Association for Computing Machinery Professionals: promotes awareness of computer technology and its influence in society. Open to all students.

Association of Information Technology Professionals: open to all students interested in business and in computers.

Biology Club: promotes the biological sciences by encouraging scholarship, fellowship, and service among biology enthusiasts.

Boutwell Tax Society: open to all students who wish to develop a greater understanding of the tax accounting field.

Construction Management Organization: open to all students interested in current developments in the field of construction management.

Criminal Justice Club: works to facilitate cooperative efforts among institutions of higher education and professional agencies of criminal justice.

Dietetics Club: a professional organization for students who are interested in dietetics, nutrition, or food service management.

Elementary Education Majors Club: activities and events to complement UNK's academic course programs while also fostering a spirit of unity among students in Elementary Education.

Geography Club: coordinates events in conjunction with Geography Awareness Week, and other events throughout the academic year.

History Club: seeks to foster the value of history as a discipline, open to all interested students.

Industrial Distribution Organization: educates members about technology, scholarships, internships, and promotes leadership qualities.

Kearney Student Speech, Language and Hearing Association: promotes interest in and support for the areas of speech, language, and hearing as a profession.

Locke and Key: nonpartisan group open to any student interested in political affairs and dialogue.

Music Educator National Conference: open to all students with an interest in vocal or instrumental music.

Music Teachers National Association: a national, professional music organization available to all full-time music majors.

National Art Education Association Student Chapter: promotes campus and community interest in art.

Nebraska Model United Nations: promotes social awareness of better standards of life and increased justice by studying and discussing international law.

Pharmacy Club: provides its members with information on current trends and careers in the field of pharmacy.

Phi Beta Lambda: enhances the development of business, civic, and leadership skills.

Psychology Club: open to all students to advance the science of psychology and to encourage and stimulate the scholarship of members in all fields.

Recreation Major's Club: provides opportunities to take part in recreational activities outside the classroom and promotes community service.

Renaissance Club: specializes in celebrating the music, food, clothing and festivities of the Renaissance period.

Society for Human Resource Management: informs students about new developments in the field of human resources and promotes interaction between community business professionals and UNK students.

Society of Physics Students: encourages student interest in physics and provides advancement of knowledge of the science of physics.

Sociology Club: provides opportunities to gain knowledge and experience within the field of sociology and receive career information and guidance.

Sports Administration Majors Club: All students interested in the field of Sports Administration are encouraged to join to enhance their educational program experience.

Student-Athlete Advisory Council: composed of student-athletes who provide insight on the student-athlete experience and offer input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect their lives.

Student Council for Exceptional Children: provides opportunities to enhance educational and professional proficiency in working with exceptional children and youth.

Student Education Association of Nebraska: a pre-professional organization that serves students as they attain the knowledge and leadership skills for a career in education.

Students in Mass Media (SIMM): open to all students interested in a career in the Mass Media fields such as journalism, broadcasting or communication.

Student Nurses Association: a representative body for student nurses seeking to positively influence health care, nursing education and professional practice.

Student Social Work Organization: involved with the social advancement of the college and community and open to students interested in social work.

Travel and Tourism Club: facilitates travel opportunities, open to any student interested in travel.

Wildlife Society: open to any student interested in wildlife and its conservation who wants to actively promote community awareness of wildlife.
