Objectives:

 

College of Business and Technology Graduation Requirements

All students graduating with a degree from the College of Business and Technology must take at least 50% of their major area credit hour requirements from the College of Business and Technology at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

All students graduating with a degree from the College of Business and Technology must take a minimum of 30 of their last 36 hours of credit needed for their degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Students seeking a Business Administration Major, Business Administration Comprehensive Major, Economics Major, Agri-Business Major, or Aircraft Systems Management Major must take a minimum of 63 credit hours that exclude courses with the prefix BACC, BSAD, BFIN, BMKT, BMGT, BASM, BSED, BMIS, and ECON. BMGT 233 and up to 9 hours of economics may be included in the 63 hours.

 

BUSINESS EDUCATION MAJOR

The Business Education Program prepares its graduates to become effective teachers of business subjects in the areas of office occupations skills, accounting and data processing, information and word processing, and basic business courses in business law, economics, general business and consumer education. Business education students acquire competence in the subject matter of the business world and an overall understanding of teaching objectives.

Three options are available in this major:

  1. Basic Business Teaching Subject Endorsement Option - Bachelor of Arts in Education
  2. Business Education 7-12 Teaching Field Endorsement Option - Bachelor of Arts in Education
  3. Marketing Education 7-12 Teaching Field Endorsement Option - Bachelor of Arts in Education

The Department also offers the Professional Vocational Education sequence for endorsement in Vocational Education.

Supplemental Endorsements are available in Diversified Occupations/School-to-Work and Vocational Special Needs.

Courses with the prefixes BSAD, BSED, BTE, and VOED are offered by the department.
