Mission

The Theatre program provides a focus on professional development in the context of a liberal arts orientation. The end of the professional development focus is to produce performers and practitioners of theatre arts who are well prepared for applied professional work or study, graduate level academic pursuits, and as informed, vital teachers. The end of the liberal arts orientation is to contribute to the development of the students' imagination and humanistic sensibilities necessary and central to their education. The theatre unit seeks to enrich the lives of students through the development of an appreciation or theatre, a respect for theatre as an art form, and the opportunity to enhance their personal and professional development through performance as a life skill.
