The department will propose a senior capstone course. This course will be required of all
majors and will be comprehensive in nature. |
1999-2000 ASSESSMENT
The Senior Seminar was revised to better survey Political Science as a discipline and to
better facilitate student synthesis and reflection of concepts, methodologies, and issues
in the discipline. Seven students completed the course (for letter grade) this year.
Average grade in the course was A.The
results of the capstone course indicate excellent student preparation in the discipline,
as well as excellent development of communication, writing, and critical/analytical
thinking skills. |
1998-99 ASSESSMENT
The Senior Seminar Course was offered for letter grade in this year. Thirteen students
completed the course. Average grade for the students enrolled was B+.The results of the capstone course indicate
excellent student preparation in the discipline, as well as excellent development of
communication, writing, and critical/analytical thinking skills. |
1997-98 ASSESSMENT
The Senior Seminar (PSCI 489) was offered for the first time in Spring 1998 as a Credit/No
Credit course. Nine students completed the course for credit.The results of the capstone course indicate
excellent student preparation in the discipline, as well as excellent development of
communication, writing, and critical/analytical thinking skills. |

The Political Science Department is planning a capstone course. This capstone course will
be comprehensive. The course will be required of all our majors. The course will be 1-3
hours. We will do the paper work for this course this Spring -- after our Program Review. |
