ASSESSMENT PLAN

This tracing will be initiated on years that coincide with departmental review.
A further assessment of our program is the developing data base on our students'
activities and research awards and the positions they enter in graduate school or
employment. As many of our graduating majors as possible will be interviewed at intervals
after graduation to determine their perspectives on the strengths and deficiencies of our
programs. A developing file of such information is already available and invaluable in
developing a perspective on the particular strengths and weaknesses of our program. This
assessment process will be formalized during the 1993-94 academic year and initiated on an
annual basis to get feedback from graduates in their 2nd, 5th, and 10th year after
graduation.

We will be adding a list serve has been added to our internet website so that we can
interact with our alumni. The department inform inform our alumni and graduating seniors
of the availability of this method of communication with the department and its faculty. |

1993-94 ASSESSMENT
The department will continue to develop this database during the 1994-95 academic year and
plans to begin surveying and tracking alumni the following year. We are working on getting
internet connections to our graduates. We are now in contact with some of our more recent
graduates. |
