ASSESSMENT PLAN
The Philosophy faculty will review the assessment plan yearly and make any changes that are indicated.
2000-2001 ASSESSMENT
No change is indicated in the present Assessment Plan.
1999-2000 ASSESSMENT
The Assessment Plan remains unchanged.
1998-99 ASSESSMENT
In addition to using student performance in 400 level courses and acceptance of student papers at conferences, the faculty will use the awarding of the O.K. Bouwsma scholarships as an indicator of the quality of student writing.
1997-98 ASSESSMENT
The Program is developing a more formal alumni survey to be sent out in 1998 Fall. The rest of the assessment plan will remain unchanged.
1996-97 ASSESSMENT
An Alumni Response assessment will begin next year in order to report the feedback that we are receiving from our graduates. Capstone Course assessment will continue.
1995-96 ASSESSMENT
The Assessment Plan will remain unchanged.
1994-95 ASSESSMENT
Since the Program does not have a major, we will assess our minors using all the 400 level courses as Capstone Courses.
1993-94 ASSESSMENT
Because of the nature of the discipline, the faculty agrees that the writing portfolios provide the most comprehensive approach to understanding student achievement and we will continue to use and refine this assessment method in general studies courses.
