ASSESSMENT PLAN
Revised 1995-96
The Test of Economic Literature (TEL) will replace the (TEK) for our General Studies classes. Test of Understanding in College Economics (TUCE) will be administered as funds permit.

Test of Understanding in College Economics (TUCE) will be administered as funds permit. The Test of Economic Knowledge (TEK) will be used to pre-test and post-test the General Studies courses to assess value added.

1997-98 ASSESSMENT
Standardized Testing with the TEL indicates significant value added in principles courses. No changes will be made in 200 level course methodology.

The Department plans to experiment in selected principles courses with the AP (Advanced Placement) test as a measure of student learning.

1996-97 ASSESSMENT
TEL standardized test results show significant value added, and that our students are at or about the national norms. No change was indicated in the 200 level course methodology.
1995-96 ASSESSMENT
Standardized testing with TEK was questioned as the most reliable instrument. The Department will replace TEK with the nationally normed TEL for pre and post testing.
1994-95 ASSESSMENT
Standardized testing indicates significant value added and performance at the nation norm.
1993-94 ASSESSMENT
Three sections of Contemporary Economic Issues (ECON 100GS) were pre-tested using the Test of Economic Knowledge. This assessment instrument produced by the Joint Council on Economic Education is nationally normed. Post-testing will be done at the end of the semester.

Five sections of Economics Principles 270GS and 271GS were pre-tested using the Test of Economic Knowledge. Post-testing to follow at the end of the semester.
