ASSESSMENT PLAN
Every student who completes a degree program is offered the opportunity to participate in an evaluation of program effectiveness in conjunction with the program review process.
1999-2000 ASSESSMENT
1998-99 ASSESSMENT
Ten School Counseling program graduates completed the survey with a mean rating of 4.47 (5 = highest rating).
Fourteen Community Counseling program graduates completed the survey with a meaning rating of 4.30.

A concern related to the effectiveness of the career and lifestyle development program component was identified. Efforts directed at this concern include focusing on this expertise as a faculty position is filled.

1997-98 ASSESSMENT
Ten School Counseling program graduates completed the survey with a mean rating of 4.15 (5=highest possible rating). Nine Community Counseling program graduates completed the survey with a mean rating of 4.38 (5=highest possible rating) No concerns were expressed requiring department response.
1996-97 ASSESSMENT
Of the program graduates, 54% completed a graduate follow-up survey, assessing program effectiveness. The average rating was 4.08 (5 = excellent), a high level of professional preparation.

Many of our students come from Residence Life. Alumni from that field suggested that an option in Student Affairs would be helpful. In response to this, the Department sought and received University approval for the Student Affairs program option. Many students transferred from the other options to this as soon as it was available, confirming the demand for this program.

1995-96 ASSESSMENT
Of the program graduates, 61% completed a graduate follow-up study. The average rating was 4.33 on a 5-point scale (5 = excellent). The evaluation of graduates indicates a high level of professional preparation.

Of the program graduates 63% completed a graduate follow-up study. The average rating was 4.22 on a 5-point scale (5 = excellent). The evaluation of graduates indicate a high level of professional preparation.
1993-94 ASSESSMENT
Twenty-three students completed a graduate follow-up study. The average rating was 4.2 on a 5 point scale (5 = excellent).
