ASSESSMENT PLAN
The Application for Candidacy must be approved and submitted to the Graduate Dean prior to registration for the last twelve semester hours required for completion of the degree. This application is submitted to the Department for approval. Approval indicates progress toward completion of the degree requirements, including successful completion (grade of "B" or better) of C&SP 855, Techniques of Counseling.
1999-2000 ASSESSMENT
No program concerns were raised related to this part of the assessment process. There were individual concerns related to specific students that were responded to as a result of this requirement.

The departmental admissions process is currently being revised. This is due in part because of concerns raised at this time of assessment. This continues to be a very effective part of the assessment process.

1998-99 ASSESSMENT
No program concerns were raised related to this part of the assessment process. There were individual concerns related to specific students that were responded to as a result of this requirement.
1997-98 ASSESSMENT
No program concerns were raised related related to this assessment process. There were individual concerns related to specific students that were responded to because of this requirement.
1996-97 ASSESSMENT
No program concerns were raised related to this assessment process. The validity of the admissions process and the program requirements were confirmed.
1995-96 ASSESSMENT
Approximately 80 applications for candidacy were considered. The intent is to assess progress toward completion of the degree. The importance of this mid-program evaluation was affirmed and as a result, the monitoring of student progress will be intensified.
1994-95 ASSESSMENT
The application for candidacy, filed between 18-24 hours into a graduate program, provides a time to consider the progress being made by each student. The feedback created from this evaluation indicates the validity of the admissions process and the program requirements. There were not programmatic concerns raised as a result of the feedback related to this process.
