ASSESSMENT PLAN
The department is also considering the advisability of a standardized instrument to be administered to the graduating seniors. The GRE subject exam in computer science or a locally developed test are the options being considered. A decision should be made during the 1993-4 school year.
1998-99 ASSESSMENT
The CSIS faculty continues to explore the idea of administering an exit exam to CS and CIS students. However, an acceptable instrument has not been discovered.
1997-98 ASSESSMENT
The CSIS faculty continue to explore the idea of administering an exit exam to CS and CIS students. However, an acceptable instrument has not been discovered.
1996-97 ASSESSMENT
The faculty continue to explore the notion of standardized testing. Peer institutions will be contacted to learn of their procedures.
1995-96 ASSESSMENT
The CSIS department continues to investigate the use of standardized exit exams. There is a computer science portion of the GRE exam, but that is appropriate only for those who go on to graduate school. No other appropriate computer science or computer information systems instruments have been located.
1994-95 ASSESSMENT
Two factors have kept the department from implementing the use of a standardized test. One is the cost of administering the exam. The other is the lack of an appropriate instrument for computer information systems graduates. The department will continue this deliberation.
1993-94 ASSESSMENT
The Department is still considering this means of assessment but funding is a major impediment to its implementation
