ASSESSMENT PLAN
As is the case each year, the CS&IS faculty will examine and evaluate the department's assessment plan at the beginning of each school year.
1999-2000 ASSESSMENT
The most recent academic program review team pointed out some deficiencies in the department’s assessment program. The review team recommended that more quantitative data be collected from graduates and that more statistically valid procedures should be used to collect and analyze the data.

Based upon these recommendations, the faculty of the department has decided to make the following changes in the assessment procedures:

1999-2000 ASSESSMENT
The assessment plan appears to be working well. The faculty will closely examine the plan in the near future in light of comments that are expected to be part of the written report of the External Academic Program Review Team. In the oral exit interviews, the team indicated they would make some suggestions as to improving and quantifying the alumni survey process. Other suggestions are also anticipated and will be carefully considered.
1998-99 ASSESSMENT
The CSIS Assessment Plan is effective; no changes are indicated.
1997-98 ASSESSMENT
The CSIS faculty has evaluated the effectiveness of the Assessment Plan and are extremely comfortable that the plan is effective.
1996-97 ASSESSMENT
The faculty determined that the department's assessment plan is well conceived and implemented. In order to better report student input and achievement within the Department, additional assessment categories will be reported beginning 1997-98: Community/Industry Feedback, and Open Forums with CSIS Students. Many of the actions the faculty have taken in the past to improve the quality of the department have come from those important assessment processes.
1995-96 ASSESSMENT
Through its focus on total quality management, the CSIS faculty have determined that the department's assessment plan is sound. It yields the information needed to measure the success of the CSIS programs.
1994-95 ASSESSMENT
No major changes were made in the assessment plan. Several fine tuning efforts were made as described above. The department also engaged in an academic program review. The external review team judged the department's assessment plan to be sound.
1993-94 ASSESSMENT
No changes are being made in the assessment plan.
