Objectives:

1. To prepare teachers in subject matter and in methods for the teaching of biology and related subjects.
2. To furnish adequate background in the biological sciences for pre-professional students and for others who require training in that area.
3. To prepare students for graduate work and for research
4. To prepare students for careers which require general biological knowledge.
