1993-94
ASSESSMENT
The standardized tests demonstrated no significant changes during the period covered by
the assessment report. In the Private Pilot Ground course (BASM 200) the test scores
averaged 86.04% over the period with a high of 89.7% during the Spring, 1994 class and a
low of 84.5% for the Fall, 1993 class. The average score in the Instrument Ground course classes (BASM 300) was
81.37% during the period. The high score was 90.4% for the Fall, 1994, class and the low
score was 75.9% for the Spring, 1994, class.
As of Spring, 1995, for the 300 course
and Fall, 1995 for the 200 course, all testing will be accomplished by the Federal
Aviation Administration by computer testing. While this procedure has its disadvantages
(arranging location and schedules), we will gain the ability to analyze specific areas
where the students are demonstrating deficiencies. This will allow us to learn from the
test results which areas require more significant focus in future classes. |
