CHANGES RESULTING FROM THE ASSESSMENT PROCESS:

1993-94 ASSESSMENT
Increase requirements for Community Counseling program from 36 hours to 48 hours including new course requirements: Multicultural Counseling, Seminar in Counseling, Techniques of Research, and increasing internship to 6 hours.

  1. Modify C&SP 875 from Information Services in Guidance to Career and Lifestyle Development.
  2. Modify C&SP 880 from Appraisal in Counseling and Guidance to Appraisal and Evaluation of Individuals and Systems
  3. Create and approve: C&SP 900, Orientation to School Psychology (2 hrs.) C&SP 902, Research Apprenticeship (1 hr.)
  4. Modify 920, Individual Diagnostic Testing from 3 cr. hrs. to 5 cr. hrs.
  5. Include counseling component in activity plan created by advisor, intern, and supervisor.
  6. Include counseling component in letters to perspective intern supervisor/administrators.
  7. Review content in Consultation and Practicum courses
  8. Increase opportunities for students to apply knowledge of legal mandates in practical coursework.
  9. Write into activity plan that within first month, inters receive an orientation to the community and related services.
  10. Discuss possibility of inviting guest speaker to present information on accessing community resources.
  11. Include expectation that interns complete research/program evaluation during their internships in letter to administrators/intern supervisors.
  12. Change wording in evaluation form to help supervisors better understand the type of "research" that school psychology
